NO FUTURE WITHOUT SUTURE
(FOCUS ON ENDOSUTURING, ON JAN 12, 2003)

Braving the cold and fog on January 12, 2003 (Sunday), surgeons from Delhi, Agra, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Karnal, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Sirsa, Panipat, Hissar, Ludhiana, Sonepat, Bulandshehar, Jalandhar, Bhatinda, Pilibhit, Muzaffar Nagar, Hapur, Noida, Aligarh, Sriganga Nagar, Maharashtra etc. came at 8.00 A.M. for the live Workshop on “Focus on Endosuturing”. Dr. Palanivelu, Director, GEM Hospital, Coimbatore demonstrated his master class craftsmanship of Endosuturing. Three Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Bilateral Hernia TEP repair, laparoscopic cystogastrostomy for pseudocyst pancreas, laparoscopic rectopexy for rectal prolapse, laparoscopic ventral hernia repair with mesh and suturing could be finished by 4.30 P.M. Dr. Palanivelu shared his technical tricks with all the delegates. His ease of endosuturing reflected the work which he has done to attain this international stature. Interactive sessions with eminent faculty – Padamshree Dr. Pradeep Chowbey (GRH), Dr. Rajesh Khullar (GRH), Dr. Anil Sharma (GRH), Dr. Adarsh Chaudhary (GBPH), Dr. N. P. Gupta (AIIMS), Dr. Arvind Kumar (AIIMS), Dr. K. N. Srivastava (RMLH), Dr. Sanjay Gupta (GTBH), Dr. S. P. Dembla (JGH), Dr. Poddar (JGH), Dr. Yogesh Aggarwal (Max), Dr. Sudhir Kalhan (Jeewan Mala Hospital) Peter Laser (Karl Stroz) were highly appreciated. Dr. Pradeep Chowbey released the book on Endosuturing written by Dr. Parveen Bhatia and Dr. Suviraj John. Dr. Palanivelu released the electronic version of the book.

The workshop CD is being made covering all the operations and lectures. Interested surgeons may contact the reception.

The hands on training lab. session both at Global Hospital and later at Ethicon Institute also drew good number of delegates.
